Do I have to go to court and have a trial to get a divorce?
A: Not if your case can be resolved by agreement. If all the underlying issues are agreed in writing, obtaining the divorce will involve providing the court sufficient evidence that the grounds of divorce have been satisfied, and drafting the necessary documents. However, under no circumstances should you attempt to write your own settlement agreement.
